Favourite TV shows and why

I’m not ashamed to admit I like junk TV. I wish I could claim to watch something with some merit to it like Game of Thrones. But apart from nature documentaries (I do love David Attenborough) my tastes, I have to say, run a little lower-level.

·         Dragon’s Den. Apart from the vicarious cringe I get when someone forgets all their figures in the face of the Dragons, what I particularly like is finding new small businesses I can use. I still get my yearly advent calendar from Snaffling Pig, a company which sells flavoured pork scratchings.

·         Judge Rinder. Yeah, I know, it’s only one step up from Jeremy Kyle, but it’s a good way to relax after a long day at the office. And a reminder to always get a contract when lending money to family.

·         My Cat From Hell. I would love to see what Jackson Galaxy would make of my two cats, who have no idea how to play and who like to leave socks all over the house.

·         Great British Bake Off. And all its spin-offs. I can’t bake, but I love to watch the complicated concoctions the contestants have to come up with.

So what do you like to watch?

  1. I had no idea that there was such a thing as a show called My Cat from Hell. That is pretty funny! How often do the hosts get the cats to behave better?

    1. Jackson Galaxy is a behaviorist and uses techniques like play and reintroduction to get the cats to behave. I've never seen him fail yet, although if he did they probably wouldn't show that one.

  2. I'm not familiar with the first two, but I LOVE Jackson Galaxy. I don't watch it often, but whenever I do, I'm so thankful for my cats..lol. And, I agree with you on the Great British Bake Off... I don't have the patience for that kind of cooking, but I love watching the show.

    1. I've tried playing with my cats the way he does and they won't have it... I'd love to see what he made of them.

  3. I've watched My Cat from Hell and it makes me sad that some of these people are so clueless as to how to raise an animal. Oh well. I've heard good things about the Great British Bake Off...I guess I should watch it. Lol! Good list.

    1. It does amaze me when people are like "Oh, I never play with them and why do I need to neuter them?"

  6. I adore the Great British Baking Show/Bake Off, and I would absolutely watch a show that was just Cats Doing Things. My Cat From Hell sounds adorable.

  7. Considering all the criticisms I've heard in regards to GOT, not sure there's much merit there. Hah.

Seriously though, we watch so much Food Network at our house! I keep meaning to look up The Great British Bake Off though. I think it's all on Netflix.

  8. I've watched my share of "My Cat From Hell". I'm always surprised at how much basic common sense people lack... but it's good to see him work with them. I'm a sucker for nature shows (I watched all the Planet Earth episodes!) so that's nothing to be ashamed of :-)

    1. He'd probably make mincemeat of us with our cats.
