Sex on haunted ground
I've always
had a fascination with the paranormal, both in the real-life sense and the
entertainment sense. I watch a lot of Most
Haunted, among other things. So it didn't take much to create Reed James,
the arrogant medium from my new paranormal I Heard Your Voice.
Reed is,
frankly, an arsehole, whose relationship with my heroine Tamar Steele, a
sensitive with a team of paranormal investigators, is entirely without feeling.
So why does it endure? Because Reed claims that sex on haunted ground increases
paranormal activity.
It's an
interesting idea which I had great fun developing as I wrote. Could this
realistically work? Spirits are often said to feed off energy - would sex on
haunted ground create that energy? Would the sense of excitement, or danger,
create enough power to fuel more spirit
activity than would usually take place?
Or is it
down to the people involved? Reed, we discover, prefers sensitives for his
pre-investigation ritual. Does the physical connection also enable a psychic
connection? Or does it simply enhance his own psychic abilities?
Or is he
just a lying jackass?
